Why It Is So Important That You Drink Water?

Your body is made up of 60-75% water, and without enough water you would eventually die! Water is vital to make your other organs function properly. Water helps with digestion and helps your own body’s metabolism. Water helps remove toxins from your body. Water helps to lubricate your joints. You should Drink Water on an empty stomach, because this is the best way to consume water as it can be absorbed directly. You should consume up to 8 glasses of water per day according to most doctors. It should also be noted that, the climate that you live in, your current diet, how much you exercise, what foods you eat, and other factors might vary how much water you should take in daily.

When should you Drink Water?

  • In the morning, before doing anything else, drinking one to two glasses of water just after you wake up can help stimulate peristalsis, lower blood concentration and boost blood circulation, I’ve been told warm water with lemon is best.

  • Before a meal, drink a glass of water 30 minutes before your meal can help to prepare the digestive system to better absorb nutrients.

  • After a meal, it is NOT advisable to drink lots of water during or within half an hour after a meal because it can affect digestion, so wait a little while.

  • In the afternoon, about 2:00-3:00 o'clock in the afternoon, drink 2 cups of water to refresh the body and the mind, let’s keep your mind alert.

  • One hour before sleep, the body consumes water while we are asleep, making us feel thirsty and dehydrated in the morning. Drinking some water an hour before you sleep can help replenish any water loss during the night.

Should you drink warm water or cold water?

Based on some research I’ve done and what I have read, here is the general consensus: Warm water in the morning with a lemon is great for your body and digestion. Cold water taken when your body is heated up, or during exercising can bring down your body’s temperature. That cold water requires your body to work harder to reach your normal body’s temperature thus causing you to burn a few more calories in the process. I prefer to drink cold water when I am working out, or feeling hot from outside. In the morning, I take the advice I’ve read to drink warm water.
