The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell

(My Original Blog Post: http://ping.fm/loLt5)
I just listened to the audio book the Tipping point by Malcolm Gladwell. I found it an interesting topic and he gave many great examples from fashions that go in out of style to New York Crime. Other examples that were interesting were about Paul Revere, and sesame street. The idea is that something small happens that creates a trend or how people act, or think and many other followers do the same, and eventually it spreads quickly. One example of this may be a yawn, how just 1 simple statement can make it spread. This audio book is read by the author. I believe this author has many other popular books also out at this time. It makes you realize that you sometimes have to stick with a concept and follow it through, or that you really have to study why something works, what influences people to think or act in the way they do.

He talks about different personality types, and often how other humans help spread ideas, and concepts almost like a virus, also known as social epidemics. He is saying when it takes off, it's hit it's tipping point. The idea on the front cover is how little things can make a big difference. I have not read the book, but you can buy it on amazon. This author wrote Blink, which I am in the middle of, and also Outliers which is a newer book at this time. The part about the audio tape I found most interesting is the research that goes into how people think and act and do what they do.
